There was a minor upset when higher rankedDSN (2-5) was defeated by 68th ranked Liepaja (2-5) 58-46 on Saturday. Liepaja trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 12 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding DSN to just 7 points in second quarter. Liepaja held DSN to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.9 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded DSN 54-31 including a 24-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Emils Steckis who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Roberts Berzins chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. Arturs Melins produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and Renars Ramats added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Liepaja . Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Liepaja moved-up to twentieth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated DSN . DSN lost third consecutive game.
